ISN: A GLIMPSE
Indian School Nizwa was established in the year 1990 as a co-educational English medium school, following the CBSE curriculum. This fulfilled the aspirations of a community, miles away from home to educate their children. It is managed by a Managing Committee and a Board of Directors nominated by His Excellency, the Ambassador of India. Sincere and concerted efforts of the community were crowned with success on the 5th of September 2011, when we shifted to a bigger premises at Thymsa, with all desired amenities.
The school took its initial steps forward with very few students on its rolls in 1990 and since then it has grown to the strength of over 1500. It is noteworthy that the school has not only achieved phenomenal progress in academics and other co-scholastic areas over these years but has also carved a niche for itself among the expatriate Indian community.
The School has classes from LKG to Standard XII and is well equipped to fulfill the needs of each and every child. The school imparts academic education through the branches of Science and Commerce and life education through Sports, Field trips, Debates, Quizzes, Music and many other school based activities. These pursuits develop an individual into a complete human being of value to the society.
The Science and Computer labs, Library and Playground give the children an opportunity to bring out their innate talents and skills. The Multi-purpose court for outdoor games and provisions for indoor games like chess, caroms, table tennis enable the children to identify and develop their skills and talents. Though this school is primarily for Indian children, its high quality education attracts children of several other nations. It has an international character by way of having students of twelve nationalities of Asia and Africa. Close cooperation and healthy friendship amongst children of various nationalities have been highly conducive to the realization of the ideal of global outlook. The school believes in providing quality education to the students and thus inculcate human values, and patriotism in them, to provide respect for all religions, values of co-existence, tolerance and non-violence by creating a conducive environment for the overall development of children.
To enhance the quality of education and to improve the infrastructure facilities, the School Managing Committee has selflessly dedicated their sincere service to this institution in various capacities. It is due to their foresight and strategy that Indian School Nizwa, today, is well equipped and technologically advanced. The hard work and dedication of the teachers, parents, administrative and support staff over the past years are equally praiseworthy.
We should always keep ourselves updated and change according to time. The need of the hour is to equip our students to face the challenges of life. As a result of the Pandemic Covid-19, education has changed dramatically by the closing of schools and transitioning to online learning with students attending the e-classrooms through digital platforms. Our teachers are equipped and trained with the approach of creating very pleasant online learning strategies. A well planned curriculum with Art and P. E., was integrated and we are into the successful second year of our online classes. Let this journey towards excellence continue which ever mode of education persists.
To provide quality education to our students, to inculcate human values, and patriotism in them, to provide respect for all religions, values of coexistence, tolerance and non-violence by creating a conducive environment for the overall development of children.
Strive to include moral values in children and to shape them into persons with a strong character and personality.
In order that the school becomes a centre for excellence in education we should kindle in children, the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development.
Prepare the children to become successful, responsible, global citizens with a commitment to protect mother nature.
