Indian school, Nizwa was established in the year 1990. It is a co-educational English medium school managed by a School Managing Committee and a Board of Directors nominated by His Excellency, the ambassador of India. Sincere and concerted efforts of the community were crowned with success on the 5th of September 2011, when we moved to a premises with a new building and all required amenities and infrastructure for a school, which is located at Thymsa on the Muscat-Ibri road.

The school has classes from LKG to XII. It has all the modern amenities of an ideal school with spacious classrooms, Science labs, Computer labs, Multi-purpose hall, Library, a large canopied assembly area and playground with a multipurpose court. With these facilities, students have all opportunities to hone their skills and innate talents. The school has facilities for IT based learning. Provisions for indoor games like chess, caroms and table tennis are also available. Though this school is primarily for Indian students, its high quality education attracts students from several other nations too. It has an international character by way of having students from twelve nationalities of Asia and Africa. Close cooperation and healthy friendship amongst children of various nationalities have been highly conducive to realization of the idea of global outlook.

The school aims at producing students who are fit instruments of service in their own country or abroad. The school provides general education that aims at the scholastic, aesthetics, moral and physical development of students and fosters secular ideas. House and prefectorial system help in the development of leadership qualities.

The school has an enrolment of around 1500 students and the number increases year after year.
